Who runs BB – Its ran by a fully qualified coach with over 15 years coaching experience. This included, grassroots, within a professional capacity within the community and supporting kids who were vulnerable or at risk of vulnerability.
What exactly is BB – Were a CIC (community interest company) a community focused organisation where everything we do is designed to benefit local kids and families. Any money that comes in is reinvested accordingly where appropriate to equipment, courses, safeguarding and pitch fees / hire.
Why was BB started - BB was started to give kids a fun welcoming place to learn football, build confidence and feel part of something. Our whole mission is inclusion, development, community impact and supporting families who may need a helping hand.
What makes you different? - We focus on fun and development first. No pressure, no trials, no favourites. Just a supportive network where all kids can gain an education and build confidence through football. We are also proud partners of Sported. The biggest UK based charity supporting grassroots sport. We have been selected to join this great organisation who helps over 5000 grassroot initiative in the UK with us being part of 500 initiative which benefit here in Scotland.
Why are you so cheap? - We keep our session £4.00 because BB is a CIC (community interest company) our goal is community impact, not profit. We want all kids to have the chance to play football, build confidence, be part of something positive regardless of family income.
What ages do you support? - We currently run sessions from age 7 – 16. However, were considering lowering this to age 4 -6 (cubs) and girls only (lionesses) sessions. Classes are all inclusive
Do beginners get mixed with experience? – Absolutely, kids are supported to work at there work at their own pace and will be buddied (where possible for specific drills), with a more experienced child, who will be “captain” and support the less experienced child promoting leadership guidance and building confidence for all involved.
Do we book in advance or just turn up? - You will need to book in advance; this is to support us with our administration and booking.
Is it pay monthly or PAYG? – We run on a block system (where possible) to keep things simple and to secure your child’s spot for a set period. We are flexible though, if anyone needs support or additional arrangements, they can drop us a message and we will always try to help.
Do you play in all weather? - Yes, we play in all weather. Unless it’s a threat to safety / emergency, then we play
Do we offer girl only sessions? – Yes, this is something we will offer if we can get the numbers to fulfil the pitch fees. As Non-profit, we require to make sure we have enough numbers to pay for the park to run the session.
How busy will classes be, is there space for new kids? – Like any football class, kids will come and go. That’s normal and expected. We will always make space for new players when numbers are free. Classes run at 12-14 capped, (depending on pitch size)
Is there a waiting list? - Not just now, however we are close to capacity.
Birthday Parties or 121 Sessions? - Yes, we do offer this service (if it supports the community or child), just drop a message. (spaces limited) as our primary focus is to reach as many kids as possible per week.
Are coaches PVG and 1st aid trained. - Yes
Do you run sessions through holidays? - Yes, and we will be adding festival and camps in due course at an extremely affordable cost.
How long are sessions? – Each session is 1hr, this consists of 5 min fun warm up, 10 mins ball mastery / free style (lots of touches), group drill 10 mins, solo or small group drill 10 mins. Conditioned match 15-20 mins 5 min debrief Q&A on session, what they learned and feedback from kids. (times are subject to change due to unforeseen factors but this is our working plan for each session)
